Mr. Mes doesn’t seem too animated but does talk pretty much throughout the track. If you’ve read any other review, I’ll just repeat what’s been said, but sometimes it seems he looks a bit too much into what’s happening. Anyway, he does talk about Mr. Miike’s career enough, as well as the career of every other actor in the entire movie, pointing out every single connection between Mr. Miike and the other actors and between the other actors and their famous siblings. He also talks a lot about the chambara movies and how ‘Full Metal Yakuza’ follows the style and plot of those movies (and, obviously, the other yakuza movies). He does just point out what’s happening on screen a lot of the time, but to be fair he does try to add to it. He talks a lot about the references to other Mr. Miike movies also. He also mentions the state of low-budget films and Japanese films in general. It’s a good enough track. Mr. Mes does know a lot about Mr. Miike, and it shows, but the track can come off as a bit dry. It’s worth a listen but not much more after that.
