Virtually no "dead air," and for an edited commentary, a very seamless production. The production designer gives vivid detail about creating the various seasons in the hot Summer climate of Redlands, California. Redlands, a place Ian might have trouble buying a beer in, as he gives a brutally frank assessment of the various locals in fair Redlands. His testimony is a welcome change to the normally sedate actor commentaries. His commentary appears whenever he's on-screen, and you actually find yourself sympathizing with his plight filming "Rules." Sadly, Director Roger Avary is absent from this track, but Somerhalder gives you some idea what it was like to take his direction. Virtually every "crazy" take was utilized in the final cut. Much to Ian's dismay. Makes for a very humorous listen. Of course, one cannot forget Ron Jeremy's brief contribution. He's appeared in all of the director's work. Jeremy does drop some information. Especially during Kip Pardue's wild European travelogue digression. A nice collection of testimonies from such an assortment of participants. I wish more DVD releases would follow this practice. 7/10
Commentary 2: Actors Clifton Collins, Kip Pardue, Shannyn Sossamon, and Theresa Wayman Rating:4.0/10 (1 vote) [graph]Login to vote or review

This was a decent track, better than options 3 and 4 below it. Collins, Pardue, Sossamon, and Wayman fill the time better than I expected and are candid about their participation while not merely narrating on-screen action. The section with Pardue is the highlight, at about the 1:20 mark, because Roger Avary joins him, and they have much to say about the Eurotrip montage.

Surprising good commentary. Eric only talks over the beginning of the movie(that’s where his small roles was) and talked about how he got the role, working with the director, and other stuff like that. For a guy who was in the movie for only 5 minutes he had a lot to say. When Eric is done talking he leaves and Sharon comes in and talks about how the movie was filmed, edited and stuff like that. She talks for the rest of the movie. I was surprised how in depth of a look she gave at the making of this movie. Highly recommended!
Commentary 6: Comedian Scott "Carrot Top" Thompson Rating:7.3/10 (3 votes) [graph]Login to vote or review
