This is absolutely everything a commentary should be! Benson and Moorhead are hands-on filmmakers and were involved in virtually every aspect of production and they talk the walk. They speak to the nuances of filming in the Puglia region of Italy and the warm Italian welcome they received, and a bit of Catholic tightroping. They avoid delving too deeply into the plot, only pointing out how they intended to use various red herrings, that the farming depicted was patently absurd, where characters were used as plot tools and then discarded. They share insights on filming nude scenes, their thoughts on improvvisation and how the film progressed from script to editing. They comment on the visual effects used, both CGI and practical effects in tandem. They mention how they used drones not only for establishing shots and strategic angles but also to establish tone, as well as their incorporation of what they call the subjective camera. 10 of 10.
