This is a decent commentary. Since it's only one person, there's always that risk of having chunks of dead air, and unfortunately, there's a fair amount of silence. Nothing particularly noteworthy is explained by Wyatt - most of what he says has to do with praising Andy Serkis' performance.

It's not terrible, but I wouldn't rush out and listen to it again.
Commentary 2: Screenwriters Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver Rating:7.5/10 (2 votes) [graph]Login to vote or review

Being both writers and producers, I found Amanda & Rick's commentary to be more interesting than Wyatt's. The most fascinating part of the commentary was when they explained just how many set-ups/pay-offs there are in the film. So many little ones that I didn't even notice. There's deliberately a lot of shots of people entering codes into security doors (Caesar observes this and uses it in the second act), Caesar eating cookies as a young ape and using them to coerce the apes to help him, setting up the concept of leashes when Caesar is both a pet and in the ape sanctuary, and even a (deleted) scene that shows how Caesar would know how to operate the window winch at the sanctuary.
