I like commentaries where a person outside of the movie industry gets to contribute, like chef Roy Choi here. He has an obvious role to fill, providing insight to the gastronomic proceedings happening on-screen. However, he also serves as a sort of "viewer-avatar" (assuming the viewer is not a film professional), getting schooled by Favreau. He also contributed the funniest moment on the commentary by revealing his only "contribution to the script". But Favreau is also in mirthful spirits, guiding us and Choi through the film with obvious pride for his work.
Much like the film itself this is a nice and unassuming commentary by a director smitten with his work.
