I've listed to both Ramin Bahrani's commentaries ("Man Push Cart" and "Chop Shop"). I appreciate his willingness to outline his theories and approach to how he made his films. The majority of the commentaries consists of discussions about how he chose his locations, genesis of the story, casting, relationships made and maintained throughout production and why he chose to shoot scenes certain ways.

I don't agree with Bahrani's overall philosophies, which come out during the track - but that's personal preference. He clearly knows how to make movies his way and he highlights his reasons throughout this commentary track.

He is joined by lead actor Alejandro Polanco and Director of Photography Michael Simmonds, who both add considerably to the interchange.

Your appreciation of this commentary will depend completely on how much you do or don't like Bahrani's films.
