This is a generally good commentary track, although like the film itself it kinda runs out of steam. And like all Apatow tracks, lots of laughs and mucking around dominates. Bill Hader does a series of generally good impressions from Peter Falk to Al Pacino to Peter O'Toole to Vincent Price, although the Pacino one grates and is incessantly brought back time and time again during the track. Apatow tries to steer the commentary into production stories and interesting asides but, much like a Kurt Russell track, this one is dominated by Seth Rogen's constant guffawing. Apatow at one point does an Al Jarreau impression for no real reason and Seth's best contribution is constantly referring back to how Tobey Maguire reacted to the film at a preview screening. At over two hours, this is for completists only.

I found this commentary track to be a mixed bad. On the one hand it was enjoyable, and kept my interest for the full 2 hours and change the movie runs. Seth and Judd bounce off each other well comedically on the track, and are complemented by the SNL guy. On the other hand, you really don't learn much about the movie and what was behind it being as it was, though occasionally useful information is shared. So, the track is pretty much what one would expect. Its a comedic track on a comedy.

Most of what is heard on this commentary is Judd Apatow and Seth Rogan laughing at each other. However, not that much funny or insightful is said so it's only funny for them. Bill Hader tries to kick in with a few impressions, but several times his improvisation runs out of gas before it gets started. What I mostly learned from this commentary is that Seth Rogan cracks himself up, and he really has done a lot of weed. The movie has some funny parts, but skip the commentary.

No need to add anything here, just to say that I loved this commentary. Funny as hell. If you like the movie, you'll also like this. 9/10
