One of my favorite commentaries. Being a huge DD comic fan and to hear how much of a fan Mark Steven Johnson was awesome. He was funny, informative and very appreciative of everyone involved in the movie.

It was nice to hear the director admit to some of the movie's failings. A nice, entertaining track, but you won't learn too much from it.

These two guys provide for some nice comments throughout the movie. Mr. Johnson is certainly not averse to swearing. They go through the actors and characters and locations and sets and things like that. Mr. Johnson talks about his adoration for Frank Miller and talks about the decisions he made in adapting the comic to the movie. They also talk about the battles they had with the studio. Apparently the studio wanted Jennifer Garner’s hair to be down for the entire movie. When one of the studio people showed up when they were shooting the ball scene, he freaked when he noticed Miss Garner’s hair was up. How silly is that? Who cares how Miss Garner’s hair is coiffed? Silly studio people. The director also mentions an error near the end. Now, he goes on about how idiotic the assistant editors are because of that mistake. That must be one of the best mistakes ever made, because it really makes that scene very powerful. I actually thought it was supposed to be like that. Anyway, these guys are informative and make you laugh along the way. They’re a very nice listen. Mr. Johnson even manages to plug ‘The Mighty’!

A decent enough track. Both guys are pretty honest about what they are happy with and what still bugs them - CGI daredevil, editing mistakes, prop mistakes etc.
But they are clearly proud of the film and provide some great trivia and anecdotes.

It's a great track for anyone interested in low budget film makers trying to work within the studio system. It was great to hear that so many insert shots were shot in DP Ericson Core' living room.

A good track, well worth listening to.
