Something unexpected happens halfway through this commentary - Sandler announces that Russell had "just left" to catch a plane to London. They couldn't have scheduled the recording any other time? Left on his own for the second half, Sandler doesn't have too much to say about CRIMES, often leaving gaps, describing the "character motivation" (surely the single most boring type of DVD commentary possible) and pointing out the angles, colours, framing of the director's shots. As Russell only ever made about half a dozen commentaries (you can't count his abysmal non-commentary for LISZTOMANIA), any chance to hear him chat is worth a listen, and his easy-going manner, anecdotes, and general info about CRIMES for the first half is probably all you'll need unless you're a big fan of the film.
