I was disappointed that Jerry didn't talk more about some of the important aspects of this marvelous film - he only briefly touches on the use of color (they used 250 ASA stock to bring out the color in the Purple Pit sequences) and the incredible transformation sequences (which were done using cutting and progressive makeup. Well duh). However, Lewis does talk about inventing the video assist, wanting to make various changes to the film, he points out a lot of actors, comedians and musicians and spends a great deal of time complimenting Stella Stevens (who wouldn't?). There are way too many pauses in this commentary (Lewis barely talks during that incredible mostly single take scene with him and Del Moore doing Hamlet on the table) and not enough analysis of this wonderful film. It's still a decent enough track though, Lewis and Lawrence both sing several times and Lewis even drops into the voices once or twice.

The track is okay. On the good side you get information about the actors, the use of colour, the sets, the new video assist for the director, the transformation, the work as a director and the music.
On the bad side there is nor much analysis of the script. They don’t talk about Dean Martin. Buddy love is a summary of a lot of characters. There are to many gaps on the track.
All in all it is nice to hear Jerry talking, but it could be much much better. 5 out of 10.
