Not as good as his Wolf Man commentary but still one of the better historian commentaries I ever heard. Highly recommended.

Was Tom Weaver being paid by the word for this commentary? I've never heard a track delivered with such speed before - film historian Weaver is reluctant to even pause for breath, let alone leave any gaps. It's almost too demanding to listen to - but man, is it packed with information - not the kind of stats that you can cut and paste from the IMDB, but an exhaustive amount of research that involves callsheets, memos, shooting schedules, and interviews undertaken by Weaver years earlier. This all adds up to a very comprehensive view of the film that leaves no stone unturned and brings to light the pettiness of a couple of higher-ups in the production that claimed credit for things they didn't do (writer Harry Essex and makeup artist Bud Westmore). Anyone with an interest in B-movies or old horror flicks owes it to themselves to check this out. Recommended.
