Director Morgan is very active in discussing the influences behind this "remake." His producer partner , Wong, chimes in when effects are presented on the screen.
For fans of r.Lee Ermy, he is on a separate recording and disappears after 40 minutes into the film.
The real treat here is listening to that man of mystery, Crispin Glover. I'm always fascinated by his acting and performance choices. He ardently assures us that every "crying" scene is complete with real tears. He even reveals an acting exercise he used as a kid to get to that emotional place.
I highly recommend this commentary and implore you to follow up this chat with the commentary for the deleted scenes and music video, directed by Crispin himself.
That 2 minutes and 55 seconds of "Ben" grants you admission into Crispin's head. And spending nearly 3 minutes in that place is more surreal and chilling than this tepid remake can ever be.
