The commentaries for the classic Disney cartoons follow a set formula of various interviews edited together (no-one is actually watching the movie while they're talking), and they're pretty much of a muchness, meaning that your interest in any given track is going to depend on how much you like the film in question. PETER PAN has always been one of my favourites, so I enjoyed listening to the discussion and analysis by the animators and historians, even if I'd already heard some of the same points repeated in other Disney commentaries. Most refreshing is to hear Disney himself pointing out the flaws of the previous production (ALICE) and how he wanted to avoid them with PAN - it seems that the only person willing to openly criticize a Disney production on these commentaries is the boss. The weakest contribution comes from the two women on the track, who supply banal generalisations and gush about how wonderful it was working for Disney. They could have easily ditched these two and replaced them with more of Leonard Maltin, who barely gets any track time.
